We’re excited to announce our first guitar competition! You could win a Navarro Classical Guitar!

FlintMeryl Music music has partnered with Andy LeGrand, and LeGrand Music Studios to create a single prize guitar competition. That’s right! One winner takes the prize, a classical guitar from the shop of Francisco Navarro worth $1250! The rules are simple and straightforward.


  1. Register by adding “Win a Navarro Guitar – Competition” to your cart and then checkout ($35 entry fee). The registration deadline is November 15th.
  2. Download the competition music composed by Andy LeGrand. Receive Andy LeGrand’s CD The Vision via USPS. All of the music in the competition is on the CD. There are six (6) pieces included in registration confirmation.
  3. Select two (2) pieces from the downloads (one at each level). Record a video of yourself performing the two (2) selected pieces.
  4. Upload the two videos to Facebook, YouTube, or Vimeo. Video descriptions must contain the title, composer and reference the FlintMerylMusic competition, and be made visible to the public.
  5. Email a link to your video to FlintMerylMusic.
  6. Be Judged! Patrick Kerber of Southeastern Louisiana University, Andrew Powers of Centenary College of Louisiana, and Andy LeGrand of LeGrand Music Studios will judge the performances.

The winner will receive a student model classical guitar of Fransisco Navarro’s Shop, a prize worth $1250!

Important to know:

  • The entry fee is $35, and there will be no refunds. There are samples on this website of the competition music.
  • You will receive Andy LeGrand’s CD The Vision via USPS within about seven (7) days from the entry date. All of the music in this competition is on the CD.
  • The music for the competition has two levels. One piece from each level must be submitted. Level 1 -Intermediate: The Butterfly Song and Dragonfly’s Journey. Level 2 – Advanced: Piedra’s Drift, Meditation, Fading, and Haven. Not all of the sheet music contains tablature.
  • The judges have the right to determine what submissions qualify to compete. Any submissions containing fraud will not be eligible. The judges will determine the winner based on accuracy, technical proficiency, and performance.
  • Entrants must provide documentation of enrollment in private lessons or a school and a valid photo ID.
  • Entrants must reside in the United States of America and be less than 30 years of age.
  • The prize will only be ship to an address in the USA.
  • A minimum number of entrants is required. FlintMerylMusic reserves the right to cancel the competition based upon participation level. If cancellation occurs, we will return the entry fees.
  • We may share your videos via our social media outlets and on our website.
  • The prize is a new Marlon Navarro (Francisco’s son) student model classical built in 2017. The guitar is a cedar top with Ovangkol back and sides.
  • The entry deadline is November 15, 2018. The video submission deadline is December 15, 2018. The winner will be determined by January 15, 2019.
